Important! Please note: I have heard stories of this deal being offered only to targeted customers. Please call TD first before pursuing this deal to make sure you qualify for the points.
WHAT: This is a fabulous deal if you can work your way through the process of everything. Basically, you need to open up a TD All-inclusive chequing account OR TD Unlimited chequing account before March 31st and before May 19th, you must complete two of the following three actions:
- Set up a direct deposit on the account
- Set up a pre-authorized debit on the account
- Set up online bill payment on the account and pay at least one bill online
Doing the above will net you 20,000 Aeroplan points. For an additional 5000 Aeroplan points, you need to add overdraft protection to the account by May 19th as well.
MORE: The fees for the all-inclusive account are $30 per month and the fees for the unlimited account are $15 per month. If you have no intention of keeping the account, the unlimited option is the way to go. If you keep a balance of $3500 in the unlimited account every month, there is NO FEE!
One could in effect open up an account, deposit $3500+ into the account so the fee is waived and then go about setting up 2 of the options mentioned above as well as overdraft protection. Once the points are in your Aeroplan account, you could then cancel the accounts if you don’t need them.
You should keep the account for 6 months though to avoid any early cancellations fees.
Expires: March 31, 2014

Remember: Not all deals will work for everyone. Some are big and some are small. If a deal doesn’t work for you, simply ignore it and wait for the next one.
