WHAT: While transferring miles from another person’s Aeroplan account into yours (or vice versa) is normally far to expensive to justify, it could be worth it if you just need a top up to make a upcoming trip happen. Right now, Aeroplan has reduced the rate from 2 cents per point to 1.5 cents per point.

KNOW: If you have a friend or family member who needs a few thousand points to make a trip happen, this may be a good deal for you. For example, transferring 10,000 points would cost you $150 instead of $200. Do the math before doing this.
